SanDisk Sansa e260: My Review
When my beloved Creative Jukebox Zen Xtra went to MP3 heaven I began my search for a new player. After a long and well-researched hunt I decided on the SanDisk Sansa e200 series. I’m delighted to say that I am happy with my choice.
I had narrowed my choice to the Creative Zen V Plus and the SanDisk Sansa e260. After reading all the great and detailed information at several sites (especially at AnythingButiPod.com) and visiting several forums I was pretty sure I would get the Sansa. It was the micro SD card slot that had me. I planned to get the smallest capacity one (the 2GB e250) and use micro SD cards to give myself unlimited capacity.
When I went to Circuit City to get my new player I tried out the Sansa on the display case. Within seconds I had it going. Viola! Can’t say the same thing about the Creative Zen V Plus. I couldn’t make it do a single thing. Phew. Glad I didn’t buy it without giving it a try.
One of the things I really love about the Sansa is that I can see the screen in daylight. Since I listen a lot while I’m walking my dog that is crucial. I also love it’s size. It is small, but not tiny. It fits nicely in my hand and also in my pocket. It works easily with one hand.
The first day I used it I was surprised that there is no volume button. There is a setting choice of Loud or Normal volume. I thought that meant I had no control over the volume, but that isn’t the case. When a song is playing you just dial the control up or down and the volume adjusts. I found this feature by just doing it. So, it is intuitive too.
Oh, and there is a replaceable battery (unlike iPods and lots of other players). The battery life is terrific.
Love the Made for Sansa accessories too. While I found that Circuit City had a limited amount of Sansa accessories I did find a good selection at Best Buy.
Love my Sansa!
