HP Photosmart C6180 - Review
My first HP printer was a LaserJet II that I got in 1988 for $1,800. It was worth every penny to get those crisp 300 dpi camera-ready print outs I used to launched my desktop publishing business. That Laser Jet II was a workhorse that worked without fail for more than 10 years. Over the years I have had a few other HPs but none that I loved as much as that one…until now.
This week we got an HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One printer. It prints, copies, scans and faxes - all in color. It is wireless network ready and prints photos that look like they came from the camera shop. It is the fastest inkjet printer I have every used. It retails for $299, but I got it on sale at Office Max for $254. Amazing. So much power for so little.
At first I was a little bit intimidated by the setup manual. The Start Here guide is 14 pages long and I thought maybe this would be more complicated than I wanted, but it turned out to be easy to set up. The instructions are clear and color coded. I was walked through the set up one step at a time and within 20 minutes I was printing.
That first photo I printed knocked me out. I had no idea it would look like I just picked it up at the photo developer. Just too cool! I’m still not sure I will print out all of our photos this way, but it is so nice to know I can print a photo in less than a minute and it will look perfect.
The wireless networking is oh-so-cool too. I can sit on the bed with my daughter’s laptop and print without a care. I love it. It works just as well with my home office computer.
I give the HP Photosmart C6180 a 10 star rating. Love this printer.
